In August, the deadline for providing financial assistance to certain internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the most vulnerable categories, who had been receiving it for the previous three six-month periods, expired. However, the government has decided to extend these payments for another six months, until February 2026.
The Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity reports that this support pertains to individuals with disabilities of groups I-III, families with children under 18 years (up to 23 years if they are studying), as well as families consisting solely of non-working individuals.
Moreover, there are changes in the procedure for assigning living assistance to IDPs:
Having more than 100,000 UAH in a deposit account will no longer be an obstacle for assigning aid to orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children temporarily placed with relatives or in foster families;
If a non-working capable person registers at an employment center or finds a job after the termination of their assistance, their payments will be resumed from the month they started working.
The continuation of payments will occur automatically, and no additional applications are necessary.
The ministry reminded that the payment amounts are:
- 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
- 3,000 UAH - for one child or IDP person with a disability.
Assistance is provided monthly for each family member of IDPs belonging to vulnerable categories or those with low incomes.
