Today, August 30, Ukraine celebrates Aviation Day.
President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated aviators on their professional holiday through his Telegram channel, emphasizing that thanks to their efforts, Ukrainian skies remain safe.
"This day is a celebration for those for whom the sky has become a lifelong work, a dream, and a calling. Military and civilian pilots, crews, engineers, designers, air traffic controllers, technicians – all of you contribute greatly to Ukraine. Our skies are under your protection," he wrote.
The President thanked everyone working for our safety and the strength of the country in the sky. He also expressed gratitude to all those developing Ukrainian aviation.
"We will do everything possible to ensure that our skies are peaceful and safe. Happy Aviation Day, Ukraine!", the head of state noted.
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal also addressed aviators on Facebook: "Today, we thank everyone who protects our country in the skies: pilots, crews, engineers. You are true heroes who fight for Ukraine and save lives every day."
"Eternal memory to the aviators who gave their lives for Ukraine. Their heroism will remain in our hearts forever," Shmyhal added.
He thanked "allies who help elevate our aviation capabilities to a new level. Ukraine will always remember your support in the toughest times."
"Dear aviators — pilots, navigators, engineers, communications officers, combat control officers, and all who guard the Ukrainian sky. You are a reliable support in defending our state. Thanks to your resilience, courage, and professionalism, millions of Ukrainians can live, work, and develop our country," congratulated the Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Anatoliy Kryvonozhko.
According to him, the courage, resilience, and selflessness of aviators save lives and instill confidence in the hearts of Ukrainians.
