New Life-saving Vests for Military Operations on Water

image

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is taking a significant step in equipping its military by procuring body armor that allows soldiers to remain afloat in water, even when fully equipped. This information was shared in an official report by the Ministry.
These body armor vests feature a modular design, which includes a special component designed to provide positive buoyancy. This module activates upon contact with water, transforming the vest into a life-saving device that can keep a soldier afloat while fully equipped during water operations. Its use significantly reduces risks during maritime missions and when crossing bodies of water.
It is noted that such body armor is already being utilized by naval forces and special operations units engaged in tasks along coastal areas.
Previously, it was reported that the Ministry is developing new standards to enhance the quality of defense procurement in line with NATO requirements. These standards will establish uniform qualification criteria for personnel responsible for defense acquisitions, allowing for better evaluation of their professional qualifications.
