As the heating season begins, the Odesa region is witnessing an increase in cases of carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to the press service of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Odesa, a man born in 1980 and a teenager born in 2011 were hospitalized in the village of Plakhtiyivka, Bilya-Dnistrovskyi district, showing signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. However, no fire or burning was detected in the house. The poisoning was caused by a leak of carbon monoxide due to a lack of draft in the heating stove. Therefore, specialists urge residents to carefully monitor the condition of heating systems in their homes.
