The incident took place yesterday, February 7, around 10 PM. The victim sustained a severe arm injury.

The investigative team from the local police department preliminarily established that a 53-year-old man living nearby was standing on the platform near the tracks and did not respond to the signals from the locomotive driver. The driver had to apply emergency braking, but could not avoid hitting the man. The victim was hospitalized with an amputated arm.

Investigators from Police Department No. 2 of the Odessa District Police Department have initiated proceedings under Part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This concerns violations of traffic safety rules that resulted in serious bodily injuries. All circumstances of the incident are being established. The investigation continues under the supervision of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa.
