Under the guidance of the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa, a neurologist from a private clinic has been exposed and charged with receiving illicit benefits for influencing decisions made by a state official (part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the doctor promised a serviceman that she could «resolve» his discharge from service due to health issues for a fee. She claimed she could influence members of the military medical commission, create the necessary medical history, and extend his inpatient treatment.

She valued her «services» at 4500 US dollars, demanding a prepayment of 3000 dollars, while planning to collect the remaining amount after the treatment was completed.

She was arrested in her office while receiving the first part of the bribe.

The full circle of participants involved in this illegal earning scheme is being established.

The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the SV ORUP No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region, with operational support from the Odessa Department of the National Police's DWB.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner by a court verdict.
