An ex-police officer in Odessa has received a 5-year prison sentence for justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

The Odessa regional prosecutor's office stated that the former law enforcement officer was found guilty of disseminating materials that justified and legitimized the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, which began in 2014. The court sentenced her to five years in prison.

"Prosecutors proved that while serving as an investigator at a police station in Odessa, the woman openly expressed her dissatisfaction with the current government and supported the actions of the occupiers. Through her Instagram account, which had over 7,000 followers, she spread materials that denied and justified the armed aggression of Russia that started in 2014. To conceal her activities, she used special software to mask her IP address.

During the trial, the defendant did not admit her guilt. She awaited the court's decision in custody", - the statement reads.
