The parties discussed the operations of law enforcement in the context of full-scale war and aspects of international partner support.

The head of the regional EUAM office in Odesa, Anders Johansen, along with his colleagues, expressed respect for local police and solidarity in facing Russian aggression.

For their part, the police, led by Chief Ivan Zhuk, informed about the challenges they are currently overcoming. They discussed crimes committed by hostile forces, ensuring civilian safety, and combating transnational crime, including issues related to illegal drug and arms trafficking.

During the discussion of pressing issues, significant attention was paid to the modernization and enhancement of physical and material resources that the police require due to the extensive nature of their work.

European partners emphasized their support for the Odesa police under these extremely difficult conditions and their commitment to providing comprehensive assistance to enhance its effectiveness. Specifically, they talked about transferring best practices from European countries and professional equipment.

The regional police chief thanked the representatives of the Mission for their ongoing cooperation and support.
