Celebrating 52 Years of Chornomorsk with a Record-Breaking Borscht

Today, April 12, 2025, the city of Chornomorsk is celebrating its 52nd anniversary. As part of the festivities, 2 tons of green borscht with quail and ostrich eggs were prepared, setting a national record.

This was reported by the Telegram channel «Odessa Life».

The mayor of Chornomorsk, Vasyl Hulyaiev, shared that the city marked the occasion deliciously and patriotically.

The record-breaking borscht, made with 100 ostrich eggs, was cooked outdoors at a charity fair near the Sports Palace. Local chefs, volunteers, youth, and entrepreneurs all contributed to the preparation. Everyone had the opportunity to taste the dish.

Residents and visitors of Chornomorsk enjoyed festive fairs and delicious street food. All funds raised today will support our Armed Forces.

Chornomorsk (formerly known as Illichivsk until 2016) is a district-level city in the Odessa region, located 16 kilometers from Odessa on the right bank of the Dry Liman. It is one of Ukraine's youngest cities and a significant seaport on the Black Sea, the third largest in Ukraine.
