On October 22, 2025, a forum dedicated to the issues faced by internally displaced persons (IDPs) took place in Odesa, bringing together displaced individuals from Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.
The event aimed to discuss the pressing challenges IDPs encounter and to foster effective cooperation between local governments, state bodies, and the IDPs themselves.
Among the participants were Acting Deputy Mayor of Odesa Serhiy Kotsyuba and Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy Olena Kytainska.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by representatives from the Office of the President of Ukraine and the temporary special commission of the Verkhovna Rada focusing on the protection of IDP rights.
During the discussion panel, representatives shared their experiences, successful case studies, and approaches to legal and social protection for IDPs.
An online platform called «IDP Council Portal» https://radyvpo.org.ua/ was also introduced, featuring an interactive map, current news, analytical materials, and practical tools for effective council operations.

Currently, over 220,000 internally displaced persons are registered in Odesa region, with 134,500 of them accounted for in the local social protection offices.
