President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously to F-16 pilot Pavlo Ivanov.

Quote: "For personal courage and heroism displayed in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree:

To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the order "Gold Star" to Ivanov Pavlo Ivanovych – major (posthumously)".

Background: On Saturday, April 12, 26-year-old pilot Pavlo Ivanov lost his life while carrying out a combat mission on an F-16.

Zelensky noted that he has listened to military reports regarding this combat situation, and all circumstances surrounding the event are being clarified.
