Details: The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that a meeting will take place in Ankara where security issues in the Black Sea will be discussed in light of a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

The meeting will be held at the naval headquarters, with military representatives from foreign nations present. The agenda will include naval planning to maintain a peaceful environment in the Black Sea.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense did not specify which countries would participate but confirmed that Russian officials would not be among them.

Earlier, Turkish media reported, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense, that a meeting would occur in Ankara with both Ukrainian and Russian representatives.

Background:

Following negotiations in Saudi Arabia from March 23-25, the USA, Russia, and Ukraine agreed to discuss the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.

However, Russia subsequently presented a list of demands, including the easing of sanctions against the agricultural sector. The USA stated they would consider these demands, while Europe rejected the idea of easing sanctions.
