Naval forces have destroyed eight hazardous sea mines that were washed ashore in the Odesa region. The Ukrainian Navy reported this on Facebook.
«Since the onset of the storm off the Odesa coast, our sailors detected 8 drifting sea mines that had been dislodged from their enemy-installed positions», the statement reads.
The Navy units successfully neutralized these mines, eliminating the threat to both the local population and maritime navigation.
Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk emphasized that Russia still possesses the capability to conduct offensive operations in the Black Sea.
