Celebrating Folk Music: The Rainbow Colors Competition

From April 14 to 16, 2025, the Odessa School of Arts No. 1 named after E. G. Hilels hosted the national competition for folk instrument performers, known as «Rainbow Colors».

This event saw the participation of 111 talented individuals, including children and youth from various artistic educational institutions across Ukraine: 77 soloists and 8 groups.

The participants came from a wide range of locations: Odessa, Chornomorsk, Izmail, Tatarbunary, Pechenizhin, Lokachi, Cherkasy, Horodnia, Smila, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Sloboda, Lutsk, and Kharkiv.

On April 16, a gala concert and an award ceremony for the winners of the «Rainbow Colors» competition took place.

The laureates were awarded diplomas and participated in the concert.

As part of the competition, there were also a master class and a chamber concert by the famous folk artist of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Murza from the Odessa National Music Academy, as well as a creative meeting with Nina Morozovich, a distinguished figure in the arts of Ukraine.

Additionally, a presentation was held on the topic «Video Sequence in the Concert Performance of a Modern Guitarist as a Factor of Expanding Communicative Properties» (speaker – Doctor of Arts, Associate Professor Ivan Kosynets).
