On June 7, the Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art will host a new exhibition titled «Air of War». The author is an active military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whose identity remains confidential.

The museum announced the event on its official social media pages.

The main motive for creating the installation stems from personal experiences of loss among comrades and the effort to cope with traumatic memories. The concept of a memory space emerged as a place where every fallen comrade can be symbolically present in memory, as stated in the exhibition release.

The project is entirely confidential: it does not disclose any names or personal details of military personnel, and there is no information that could reveal military secrets or the identity of the author, who continues to serve.

The installation will consist of 88 canvases, each named after the date of a comrade's death.

The curator of the project is Yulia Tomashevskaya-Garachuk. A lecture by curator Oksana Dovhopolova from the memory culture platform Past/Future/Art will also take place during the exhibition opening.

The museum has noted that there will be age restrictions: attendance for children under 16 years old is not recommended.

On the opening day, admission will be free. Subsequently, tickets will cost up to 100 UAH. For those who were forced to leave their homes, entry will be free.
