The Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet has presented a revamped version of the opera «Zaporozhets beyond the Danube», showcasing innovative approaches to direction, costumes, and choreography that break free from traditional stereotypes.

The costumes designed for the show blend traditional Ukrainian attire with avant-garde shapes and materials. Designers have moved away from classic trousers and embroidered shirts, offering sleek outfits that reflect the spirit of the Cossack era through a modern lens.
The choreography preserves the energy of folk dances while rejecting clichés. The production includes original dance that combines elements of contemporary ballet and ethnic movement, emphasizing the patriotic themes of the opera.
