New representatives of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (UKF) will soon appear in the Odesa and Sumy regions to assist local cultural communities in preparing grant applications and establishing partnerships. This was confirmed in a press release from Suspilne Culture.
UKF has announced the launch of a regional representatives program aimed at strengthening the connection between the foundation and local cultural communities. The pilot phase of the project will be implemented in Odesa and Sumy regions.

UKF Executive Director Anastasia Obraztsova noted that during the selection of regions, the team relied on statistical data: applicants from these areas show high activity, but only 1 to 5 projects are realized. She emphasized that the initiative aims to help local communities enhance their capacity and increase the number of successful projects.
"We strive for each region to have a successful cultural case that inspires others and shows that significant changes start locally."
UKF representatives will assist cultural communities in better understanding grant program requirements, preparing higher-quality applications, finding partners, and implementing their ideas.

What is UKF?

The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (UKF) is a state investor in the development of culture and creative industries. The institution was established in 2017 based on the Law of Ukraine "On the Ukrainian Cultural Fund."

Support for projects is provided on a competitive basis across seven sectors:

  • audiovisual arts;
  • visual arts;
  • audio-visual arts;
  • cultural heritage;
  • literature;
  • performative and stage arts;
  • cultural and creative industries.

Over its eight years of operation, the fund has financed 2951 projects. The total investment amounts to over 2 billion UAH, reaching an audience of 56 million people. According to the draft state budget for 2026, 410.9 million UAH is planned for UKF (in 2025, 250.7 million). Additionally, next year, in the ninth grant season, separate grants for audiovisual creators will be established, operating independently of UKF's collaboration with the State Film Agency and the Ministry of Culture.
