A commemoration event took place at the Exchange Square in Odessa to honor the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the fight against Russia.

Families of the fallen, veterans, and local residents attended the event, along with guests from the city.

On August 23rd, hundreds of candles were lit in the evening silence. Each candle symbolized a name, destiny, and act of bravery. The lights formed a map of Ukraine, a reminder of the resilience and dedication of our people.

“Every light from this evening event tells the story of a person who fought for Ukraine. It is our moral duty to remember those who will never return home and to ensure that their sacrifice is not in vain,” emphasized Pavel Vugelman, Deputy Mayor of Odessa.

We thank the NGO “Vyshyvankovy Festival” for the organization, the Military Orchestra of the Odessa Military Academy, the families of the fallen soldiers, our military, and everyone who shared this moment of remembrance.
