In Odesa, the Patrol Police has identified 25 critical intersections that significantly impact traffic safety in the city.
During unexpected power outages (blackouts), the Municipal Enterprise «SMEP» together with the Patrol Police monitors the status of traffic lights.
All key intersections are equipped with large uninterruptible power supplies that ensure the autonomous operation of traffic lights (when fully charged) for 4 to 8 hours.
If necessary, the Municipal Enterprise «SMEP» replaces batteries, and in emergency cases, collaborates with the Department of Transport, Communications, and Traffic Organization to connect generators to maintain the operation of traffic signal systems.
During the battery replacement and generator connection, the Patrol Police manages traffic at the intersections.
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic rules.
