In celebration of World Science Day, the State University of Intelligent Technologies and Telecommunications (SUITT) hosted the second competition-exhibition of youth scientific achievements, Science Skills Booster SUITT - 2025.
The event saw participation from both individual contestants and teams. The competition was held in a hybrid format - both in-person and online. The preliminary stage took place throughout May, with the finals held on May 17.
Top projects were presented by students from Odesa lyceums No. 49, 62, 72, 121, 122, "Marinsky" and students from the Professional College of Telecommunications and Informatics at SUITT.
Participants showcased a variety of projects: computer games, alternative messengers, innovative devices, and technical solutions for education. Among the standout projects were the «Safe Home» system, a smart solar panel with automatic tracking, and a power supply made from household items capable of functioning during blackouts.
The winners of the Science Skills Booster SUITT - 2025 competition were:
Grand Prix (a cash prize of 8,000 UAH from the main sponsor - the Ukrainian branch of ISOC) went to the team «LUX» from Odesa Lyceum No. 62 for their innovative smart solar panel with automatic tracking.
1st place - project «ProtoFlex – a utility for creating individual VPN connections to specific applications» (author: Anatoliy Lakarov, 11th-grade student from Odesa Lyceum "Marinsky", scientific advisors - informatics teachers Iryna Buz and Olena Lohia).
2nd place was shared by the project «Pinger – a messenger for secure communication and data transfer» (author: Mykhailo Fasyola, 8th-grade student from Odesa Lyceum “Marinsky”, scientific advisors - informatics teachers Iryna Buz and Olena Lohia) and the development of «Interactive platform for programming education using Docker containerization» (author: Bohdan Popravka, 9th-grade student from Odesa Lyceum No. 72, scientific advisor - informatics teacher Olena Kravchuk).
Winners received cash prizes from SUITT.
«Today we have once again confirmed that our youth has a clear vision for the future, is ready to work for the prosperity of the country, and impresses with innovative ideas,» summarized Yuriy Kargapolov, chairman of the Ukrainian branch of ISOC.
