On September 10 and 14, the Ukrainian cultural festival Odesa Fest will take place in Berlin, celebrating the historical ties between Odesa and Germany.

The Odesa Square, opened in January 2023, will host a grand gala concert featuring dance groups and soloists, including Natalia Bitko, an opera singer and former soloist of the Musical Comedy Theatre.

In the art performance “Odesa in Brush and Voice,” artists will combine painting and singing. Odesa artist Svitlana Vol will create live art while Sofia Voloshanenko, a talented jazz singer, performs Yiddish songs.

Another performance, “Sand Ceremony,” will also take place.

The Fayna restaurant will celebrate Odesa’s culinary traditions and culture, featuring a cabaret show “Ok-Ok” with vibrant vocal, dance, and comedic performances.

Ukrainian guitarist Nik Rakov and Berlin-based Beata Falk will perform a concert with popular Jewish hits and jazz compositions, bringing the musical atmosphere of Odesa to life.

The entertainment program includes jokes, prize draws, a handmade market, workshops, a photo zone, and games and sweets for children.

The organizer of the Odesa Fest, Odesa native Angelika Soldatenko, is hosting the event under the patronage of Lichtenberg’s mayor Martin Schäfer and supported by Berlin parliament member Liliya Usik.
