Since the onset of the full-scale war, the demand for blood donations has surged dramatically and remains critically high. Medical professionals at Primary Medical Care Center No. 16 understand this well and have conducted their eleventh collective blood donation this week.
«Our soldiers selflessly defend us. When they suffer injuries, we can repay them by sharing a part of our blood to save their lives. We must continue this support and do everything possible,» said Anna Pavlega, the director of Primary Medical Care Center No. 16, who regularly donates blood and inspires her team through her example.
During the event, about fifteen employees from Primary Medical Care Center No. 16 donated blood. One donation can save as many as three lives.
The blood donation drive was part of the city charity project «Weeks of Good Deeds».
Today, as Ukraine has been holding the front for over three years, blood donation represents another line of defense. It is crucial for everyone without medical contraindications to participate in blood donation.
Donating blood not only saves lives but is also beneficial for the donor:
- prevention of cardiovascular diseases;
- reduction of cancer risks;
- overall body rejuvenation.
Donors are granted two additional paid days off.
