Tragedy at the Beach: Medical Response Delayed

At the 16th station of the Great Fountain, medics rushed to save a 14-year-old girl who was in critical condition after a drowning incident. She was unconscious, and the route was blocked by parked cars, delaying the arrival of help. This was reported by the Emergency Medical Assistance Center of the Odessa region.

Fortunately, another medic was present on the beach and began performing CPR while the emergency team struggled through the traffic.

After stabilizing her condition, the girl needed to be urgently transported to intensive care, but the return journey was again hindered by traffic.

The Emergency Medical Assistance Center of Odessa emphasizes that such cases are not exceptions but a systemic problem. Medics urge drivers not to block access, especially near beaches and recreational areas.

“Please, think about emergency medical care and imagine for just a moment that your loved ones might be in that vehicle: husband, wife, child,” said emergency doctor Yelizaveta Churilova.
