Last week, in Odesa, with the support of the Department of Health of the City Council and the City Health Center, an event was organized for World Hepatitis Day.
On this day, everyone could anonymously and free of charge take a rapid test for hepatitis B and C. Regular examinations allow for the early detection of hepatitis before clinical symptoms appear, enabling timely treatment and preventing severe liver damage.
As a result of the event, 483 individuals participated in the voluntary anonymous testing for hepatitis B and C. Ten patients tested positive. Twenty individuals were referred for consultation with an infectious disease specialist.
Doctors remind that testing for hepatitis B and C using rapid tests is part of the free primary medical care package under the state medical guarantee program. Tests can be conducted by your family doctor.
