Smart Medical Products has introduced an innovative expert-class ultrasound system called HandyUsound.

The device was showcased at the 34th International Public Health Exhibition 2025, which brought together medical experts to discuss the restoration and modernization of healthcare.

HandyUsound is a fully Ukrainian development created by engineer and CTO of Smart Medical Products, Maksym Smoliar.

The ultrasound system weighs 10 kilograms and is lightweight for transport due to its compact design. A key advantage of the device is its ability to operate for up to eight hours in fully autonomous mode without connecting to a power source.

The main goal of this product's creation was to provide military medics with a reliable tool that ensures diagnostics even in the most challenging conditions.

As a result, the system can be utilized in field conditions, taking into account the needs of tactical and military medicine. Given that the device must function in crisis situations where access to stationary equipment is restricted, the ultrasound system operates independently, is easy to transport and maintain, and is resistant to harsh operating conditions.

“HandyUsound is a product developed in the realities of war for the real needs of military medics and mobile teams. We combined engineering thought and clinical requirements to ensure reliable, autonomous, and high-quality diagnostics where it matters most,” noted Maksym Smoliar.

It is worth mentioning that the development will provide reliable and autonomous diagnostics in both combat and civilian conditions. During the Public Health 2025 exhibition, the device received high praise from experts and civilian diagnostic physicians. The Ukrainian ultrasound system can be beneficial for mobile teams, remote clinics, as well as regular hospitals and healthcare facilities.

In addition to the aforementioned features, HandyUsound boasts a range of characteristics that make it unique, including:

• Expert-class diagnostic accuracy. The algorithms and image quality of the ultrasound device meet clinical practice requirements, allowing for precise clinical decision-making.
• The device is equipped with a steatometry feature that helps detect liver fat infiltration, crucial for identifying MASLD in military personnel and preventing hepatoses and hepatitis.
• Ukrainian production and service. Since HandyUsound is a Ukrainian development manufactured in Kyiv, Smart Medical Products ensures the delivery and servicing of the device even in regions with limited infrastructure.
