Celebrating a Decade of Rehabilitation Services in Odesa

The rehabilitation department of City Hospital No. 8 in Odesa is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The service began in 2015 with the establishment of rehabilitation beds in a therapeutic ward. Since then, significant improvements have been made, including a complete renovation of a separate building and the acquisition of new rehabilitation equipment.

The department offers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for patients with musculoskeletal disorders, neurological diseases, and those recovering from strokes.

In the first nine months of this year, the hospital provided nearly 500 outpatient rehabilitation services, and over 200 patients underwent rehabilitation in an inpatient setting. All services are provided free of charge under state medical guarantees with a referral from a doctor.

The department is constantly evolving, receiving the latest rehabilitation equipment. This year, with the support of the city authorities, the hospital acquired new devices, including an automatic treadmill, machines for passive limb development, and stair-climbing simulators.

Hospital staff regularly attend training sessions and participate in conferences and seminars on rehabilitation. Additionally, the department collaborates with the Odesa National Medical University to train resident doctors in physical and rehabilitation medicine.

With modern equipment, innovative technologies, and continuous professional development, the rehabilitation department provides effective care, enhancing the quality of life for patients post-rehabilitation. This is especially crucial during wartime when the demand for medical rehabilitation for Ukrainian defenders is increasing.
