Once again, soldiers from the Odesa unit of the Southern Regional Border Guard Service of Ukraine have joined the initiative «Donor Odesa».

About twenty border guards participated in the collective donation, most of whom are regular blood donors. The military understands the critical need for a blood reserve during the ongoing war to save the lives of comrades, injured civilians, and anyone in need of urgent medical assistance.

«For us, protecting Ukraine involves not only combat duties but also the readiness to extend a helping hand to those fighting for their lives in hospitals,» the border guards say.

Each blood donation can save up to three lives. Donating blood not only provides a chance for someone else to survive but also benefits the donor's health if there are no medical contraindications.

The «Donor Odesa» project has been actively engaging blood donors for civilian and military medical facilities since the first days of the full-scale war, having facilitated over 14,000 blood donations.

It is crucial that every Ukrainian who is eligible donates blood during this time.
