The president stated that Ukraine needs to enhance its relations with the United States and take new steps in defense management. He promised that details will be made public soon, but did not specify what they entail. «We need to revitalize the work of the Ministry of Defense and our diplomatic efforts, particularly with the United States,» Zelensky said in his evening address on July 12.

Sibiga Declares Major Changes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

This week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine unveiled a new structure. According to Minister Andriy Sibiga, this structure aligns with the realities of wartime and best European and global diplomatic practices. Notably, the disarmament department will be abolished, and a new Department of International Security and Defense will be established. The U.S. and Canada office will be separated from the Latin America and Caribbean Department, as it constitutes a distinct work area. A special representative will focus solely on African issues, while the Middle East and North Africa will be grouped into a separate department.
