On the night of August 6, in Tulcea, which lies opposite the southernmost Ukrainian cities, an alert was sounded for an hour and a half due to a strike by Russian drones on southern Odessa.
The operation of air defense systems and explosions were clearly audible from Romanian territory.
A fire that broke out during the shelling caused panic in Romania, with about 20 individuals contacting emergency services, believing that a fire was occurring nearby.
"Response teams remained in the area to monitor the situation and were prepared to intervene if necessary. We once again urge calm and remind that the targets of the Russian attacks are not in Romania, and we encourage citizens to heed the safety measures recommended by the authorities," stated the fire service.
