The Brave1 team and the Third Assault Brigade have developed a new drone equipped with artificial intelligence. It is capable of striking targets at distances over 50 km. This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation.
“Many defense innovations originate directly from the battlefield – thanks to military engineers’ ideas. This is the case with the ‘Dolphin Spider’. The project began in the R&D lab of the Third Assault Brigade,” he stated.
According to the minister, the name “Dolphin” is the gaming nickname of a fallen comrade of the developers. The drone is created in his honor. Engineers from the Third Brigade collaborated with Omnitech to design the drone, while Brave1 assisted in adapting it for military deployment.
“This drone surpasses foreign counterparts in key performance indicators and can autonomously identify terrain using artificial intelligence algorithms,” Fedorov added.
He also confirmed that the main role of the drone is to provide reliable communication for strike UAVs deep behind enemy lines. Thanks to this, Ukrainian drones can appear where the enemy least expects. The “Trio” is already destroying enemy air defense systems, logistics, and other priority targets using the ‘Dolphin Spider’.
Moreover, recently, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that allocates an increase in defense spending to 412 billion UAH, with 216 billion UAH designated for the procurement and production of weapons, military equipment, and drones.
