The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, has urged mayors, local authorities, and school leaders to observe a moment of silence every day at 9:00 AM. This includes stopping all forms of transport.
In his Telegram channel, Kiper reminded about the Presidential Decree of Ukraine dated March 16, 2022. It states that every day at 9:00 AM, Ukrainians should pause for a moment of silence to honor the memory of those who have lost their lives due to the Russian war.
“I demand from: mayors, local government bodies, military administrations, heads of state institutions, public authorities, communal enterprises, private businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and all concerned citizens – to strictly adhere to this decree.
There can be no “forgotten”, “didn’t hear”, “we were busy”. If you have time for coffee or conversation, you have time for one critical minute of silence.
The daily moment of silence is not just a pause. It is a testament to our memory and gratitude to those who gave their lives for Ukraine. It is our moral obligation; indifference is not an option,” Kiper emphasized.
