The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a new resolution that will significantly ease the use of open data through the establishment of a centralized portal.
This was announced by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
«Open data are the information collected and made available by government bodies in a convenient digital format, excluding personal or confidential information. This may include data on budgets, transportation, education, healthcare, and more. From now on, the most significant data of public value will be consolidated into an updated unified list», the statement reads.
It is emphasized that this will allow citizens, businesses, and NGOs to more easily access the information they need, facilitating its use for analysis, service creation, or oversight of government activities.
The updated regulations will also help government agencies work with data more effectively. They will receive clear guidelines on how to upload information to the Unified Open Data Portal, making data more accessible to the public and reducing the room for misuse by officials.
As reported earlier, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the company YouControl, and the NGO «Association of Open Data» (AOVD) have signed a trilateral memorandum on cooperation in the fields of statistics, analytics, and digitalization.
