In Odesa and the surrounding areas, rescue operations have been ongoing for nearly 24 hours following heavy rainfall. The State Emergency Service reports a tragic toll of 9 fatalities, including 1 child.
Throughout the night, rescuers have been helping to evacuate people from flooded areas, retrieving vehicles, pumping water out of buildings, and searching for a missing girl, whose body was discovered at 7 AM. A psychologist was present at the scene.
A total of 362 individuals have been rescued and 227 vehicles evacuated.
The operation involves 255 rescuers and 68 units of equipment.
Efforts are still underway.
