Arrest of a Drug Dealer in Odesa

Officers from Police Station No. 2 of the Odesa District Police discovered that a 41-year-old resident of the Usatove community was engaged in illegal activities. In late January, law enforcement documented the man selling amphetamines, which are restricted. The offender was apprehended while handing over a package containing the "goods" on the street near his residence.

This was reported by the police.

As evidence, the police seized money from the offender that he received for the "goods," and during a sanctioned search of his property, another package with an unknown substance, equipment for packaging psychoactive substances, and other items of interest to the investigation were found. All seized substances were sent for examination.

According to the senior investigator of Police Station No. 2, Olena Ditsul, the suspect was detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was informed of the charges of illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and illegal sale of psychoactive substances. According to the sanction of part 1 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the man faces a penalty of up to eight years in prison. During the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of custody with the right to bail. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Bilyaivka District Prosecutor's Office. Individuals involved in drug trafficking are being identified.
