On October 15, 2024, a significant meeting took place at the Odesa City Hall between acting Mayor Oleksandr Filatov and UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine Mr. Matthias Schmale. City council advisor on social and humanitarian issues Veronika Etnarovich and other UN representatives were also present.

The meeting addressed security and humanitarian needs in the city amid military aggression, as well as preparations for the winter season.

Participants emphasized the importance of aid for internally displaced persons and highlighted the need for additional shelters in Odesa.

They also discussed ensuring the reliable operation of heating and water supply systems for social facilities during the autumn-winter period.

Oleksandr Filatov expressed gratitude to international partners for their support in the restoration of facilities damaged by attacks.
