Arrest in Odesa: Man Charged for Selling Forged Documents for $15,000

A man was arrested in Odesa for allegedly providing assistance to military conscripts in obtaining fake documents for illegal exit abroad for $15,000.

This was reported by the Odesa police on February 13.

According to the investigation, a 37-year-old man promised his acquaintance a six-month deferral from military service due to health reasons, which would allow him to leave the country.

The Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense in the Southern Region added that false information was to be entered into the systems "Reserve+" and "Oberih". The cost of such a service was $15,000.

The suspect was apprehended during the receipt of the funds. Investigators seized the specified money, a mobile phone, a vehicle, and documents. He has been charged under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to nine years in prison and deprivation of the right to hold specific positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, along with confiscation of property.

The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to post bail of UAH 908,400. Within the framework of the proceedings, police will identify individuals who used the services of the arrested.
