The response level to case study tasks indicates a concerning level of financial literacy among Ukrainian teenagers.
This is reported by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The research shows that the average correct answer rate among teenagers is 46.6%,
which translates to a score of 3 in a 12-point grading system.
The best results were achieved by students from Dnipropetrovsk (57.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (53.7%) regions, and Kyiv (50.4%).
The lowest results were in Kirovohrad (37.4%), Mykolaiv (39.7%), and Chernivtsi (41.4%) regions.
Girls performed better (47.4%) compared to boys (45.6%). Urban students scored 48%, while rural students scored 40% correct answers.
Notably, no teenager provided 100% correct answers to all case questions included in the survey.
The study was conducted by specialists from the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O. Yaremenko in April 2024. The participant sample was formed by employees of the State Scientific Institution "Institute of Educational Analytics".
During the study, over 3 thousand students aged 14 to 17 from 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv were tested.
