Odesa Crew Joins Historic Regatta in Venice

image

For the first time in the history of the Historic Regatta in Venice, a crew of veterans from Odesa took to the waters of the Grand Canal.

Our brave men, who have faced the front lines and suffered injuries, stepped up to the start in a legendary boat, demonstrating the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian military.

Amidst the colorful boats, historical costumes, gondoliers, and thousands of spectators from around the world, the shout of “Glory to Ukraine!” echoed proudly as Ukrainian flags waved. It is symbolic that even after losses and trials, Ukrainians possess the strength to triumph - both in war and in life.

Ukraine resonates in the heart of Venice, with Odessa standing alongside friends who understand and support us. The Days of Odessa in Venice continue!

The Historic Regatta is not just a sporting event but a cultural celebration with over 700 years of tradition, attracting numerous spectators. The presence of our veterans in Venice and their participation in the races was made possible by the support of Venice's mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, and the local community.
