Ukraine has concluded another phase of returning deceased individuals - the repatriation of 1200 bodies.

Today, the next stage of repatriation activities took place in line with agreements made in Istanbul. Another 1200 bodies have been returned, which according to Russian sources, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

In the near future, law enforcement officials, together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will carry out all necessary examinations and identification of the repatriated bodies.

This process was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Coordinating Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, and other security and defense structures of Ukraine.

We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks to the personnel of the Central Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for ensuring the transport of repatriated bodies to designated facilities, as well as organizing the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement representatives in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the forensic examination system in the Ministry of Health.
