In the Odesa region, the community gathered to honor Captain Vladislav Ilchuk, who was killed in action on February 22, 2025. The Bolgrad City Council noted that he stepped up to defend his country from the very first days of the invasion.
Today, March 2, in the village of Tabaky, a farewell ceremony was held for the commander of the mechanized battalion, Vladislav Ilchuk. Before the war, he lived with his family in Bakhmut, Donetsk region. After the full-scale conflict began, his family had to relocate to the Odesa region due to the destruction of their hometown.
"After intense battles in Bakhmut, the officer's family was forced to leave their city and move to the Bolgrad community. Here, they tried to build a new life, hoping for peace and the return of their Hero. However, the enemy shattered those hopes, leaving the family without a husband, son, and father.
The body of the fallen defender was carried through a living corridor formed by community members to honor Vladislav's sacrifice. At the cemetery, where he was laid to rest alongside other fallen soldiers, the widow was presented with the national flag of Ukraine as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance," the Bolgrad community emphasized.
