Students in Odesa will resume in-person classes starting Monday, April 14, provided that classroom temperatures exceed 17 degrees. Each school makes this decision independently.
This was announced on April 13 by the director of the city’s education department, Olena Buinevych.
Class teachers are required to inform parents about the situation in their respective schools.
“Today, all schools will check their temperatures. If it exceeds +17°C, we will return to in-person classes. School directors and teachers are just as eager for in-person learning as parents and children. The end of last week confirmed the correctness of the decision to switch to remote learning, so we are acting according to the sanitary regulations,” Buinevych stated.
It is worth noting that due to the sudden drop in temperatures, Odesa schools switched to remote learning on April 8, which caused dissatisfaction among parents who believe that children should attend school.
