New Initiatives Against Violence in Ukraine

Annually, from November 25 to December 10, Ukraine hosts the event titled «16 Days Against Violence».

This initiative aims to draw attention to the issues of domestic violence, human trafficking, and the protection of women's and children's rights. Various thematic events will be organized in educational institutions in Odessa.

Throughout November and December, young residents of Odessa will participate in celebrations for the International White Ribbon Day, a city video contest focused on combating violence, and the flash mob «Goodness Begins with Us» on social media.

Schools will also host: an educational hour titled «Together Against Violence», an exhibition of children's drawings and photographs titled «#HappyFamilyInOdessa», workshops, trainings, quests, and round tables.

For high school students, interactive games such as «Creating a Safe Circle!» and «Youth and Police Against Violence» will be organized.

During the «16 Days Against Violence» event, the results of the city competition «My Understanding of Gender» will be summarized.

For educators, sessions of a psychological film club discussing relevant films will be held, along with seminars incorporating training elements to enhance collaboration with organizations addressing domestic violence.

The topic of preventing domestic violence and bullying in schools will be discussed by psychological service specialists during training sessions.

With the participation of representatives from government organizations, informational parent lectures and consultations titled «Family – A Space Without Violence» will be conducted.
