A shocking incident occurred in Berezivka where a man shot his friend's dog. This horrifying event took place in February when a local resident heard whimpering and alerted the police.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered that a 25-year-old man visiting friends decided to take extreme measures after learning that the dog allegedly harmed chickens. He retrieved an air rifle from his car and shot the dog, hitting it in the eye.

According to the forensic examination, the dog died from brain swelling caused by the gunshot wound.

Police quickly tracked down the offender and seized the weapon, which was identified as a single-shot air rifle of 4.5 mm caliber.

The man is suspected of animal cruelty resulting in the death of the dog. Under Ukrainian law, he faces up to three years of imprisonment.

The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
