At the Odessa Zoo, an unusual event occurred when a serval, a predatory African cat, found its way into the lion enclosure. Thanks to the efforts of the zoo staff, the animals were safely separated. Fortunately, none of them were harmed.
The zoo director, Igor Bilyakov, stated that on May 15, the serval managed to climb into the lions' area. The lions did not show aggression but were merely curious about the newcomer. He did not provide details on how the incident happened.
"The serval escaped from its enclosure and ended up with the lions. I want to assure everyone that it was unharmed. I saw headlines on Telegram channels about blood, but there was none. The lions did not touch the serval, and it came out completely fine. We isolated one lion, and the other had to be euthanized, allowing us to safely retrieve the serval. Everything went smoothly," - reported Igor Bilyakov.
