On the evening of February 11, a tragic car accident occurred on Ivan Funtovyi Street in Odesa. A 29-year-old driver of a «Toyota» lost control and crashed into a power pole. This incident resulted in the death of a 31-year-old passenger, while the driver was hospitalized with injuries.

Dmytro Sliuta, head of the transport crime investigation department, stated that initial findings indicate the driver lost control of the vehicle. It is noteworthy that the driver was sober at the time of the accident, as confirmed by medical tests.

Investigators have registered information in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, regarding violations of traffic safety regulations that led to a fatality. A series of forensic examinations are being conducted as part of the investigation to establish all circumstances of the event, and investigative actions are ongoing.
