On September 18, 2025, the international event «Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms» was launched in Odesa.
The forum brought together representatives from various government bodies, healthcare institutions, social services, higher education, rehabilitation centers, and organizations advocating for veterans.
Experts from several regions of Ukraine and other countries participated in the event. Over two days, attendees will discuss state policies and international experiences in rehabilitation, including cutting-edge technologies like exoskeletons, robotic prosthetics, bionic implants, and psychological rehabilitation and social integration issues.
“This forum marks a significant step towards change. The issue of prosthetics is not only medical; it is about integrating people with disabilities into society. Odesa has the potential to become a rehabilitation hub in Ukraine,” stated Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
The city authorities are actively working on establishing a rehabilitation system for veterans. Modern rehabilitation departments are already operating in several hospitals, with medical centers involved in providing outpatient care.
Currently, the construction of a new rehabilitation center in Odesa is underway, which will be a comprehensive space for medical services, educational programs, and social integration.
Methods of adaptive sports are also being actively incorporated into veteran rehabilitation. Recently, the Odesa team successfully participated in the Venetian regatta.
The «Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms» will serve as a crucial milestone in the development of the national rehabilitation system, fostering dialogue among various levels of government and ensuring the implementation of effective solutions.
