As of January 1, 2025, a new system for assessing daily functioning has been launched in Kyiv, as announced by Eduard Krasyuk, the director of the Kyiv City Center for Nephrology and Dialysis, during a press briefing.

These changes, introduced at a national level, aim to simplify the process for patients by reducing the paperwork required for medical evaluations. Expert teams made up of specialized doctors will provide more accurate and effective assessments of patients' conditions, ensuring better recommendations. Krasyuk noted that this also increases the number of healthcare facilities capable of providing these evaluations.

Since the introduction of the new system, 25 assessments have already been completed, with plans for an additional 240 before the end of January.

Tatiana Baranovska, acting director of the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 12, stated that 15 medical facilities in Kyiv have formed teams for various specialties, including general medicine, oncology, traumatology, cardiology, and psychiatry. A full list of these facilities can be found here: http://e.surl.li/khfcfg.

Each facility was required to form at least two teams. For instance, the Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 12 has organized 9 teams working specifically with trauma patients, involving 28 highly qualified doctors. The hospital has already received over 3,000 cases from the Medical-Social Expert Commission.

Baranovska emphasized that the new system is currently undergoing testing and may experience some challenges; therefore, facilities are operating under emergency protocols, utilizing both electronic and paper documentation.

During the press briefing, war veteran Petro Synitsky shared his positive experience with the evaluation process at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 12, noting the excellent conditions provided for patients with mobility impairments.

According to the updated system, evaluations can be conducted in person, remotely, or at the patient's location, depending on their condition. More details can be found on the Kyiv City State Administration Health Department website: http://e.surl.li/ghwhnz.
