Blood Donation Campaign in Odesa for Ukrainian Defenders

image

Last week, with the support of the «Donor Odesa» project and the administration of the Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 3, a large-scale blood donation campaign was organized to assist injured defenders of Ukraine. Medical professionals from the Odesa Regional Blood Transfusion Station facilitated the mobile donations.

Over two days, blood was donated by staff from children's hospitals in the Kyiv and Peresyp districts of Odesa. On the second day, employees from the Primary Health Care Center No. 5 and the Consultative Diagnostic Center No. 29 also participated. In total, around 50 donors contributed, saving dozens of lives.

The need for donated blood has remained extremely high since the onset of the full-scale war. Today, blood is vital for saving both military and civilian patients.

Teams can organize mobile blood donation at their own premises. Here’s how to do it:

1. Assemble a group of 25-50 willing donors. Ensure that potential donors do not have absolute contraindications or temporary restrictions for blood donation.
2. Coordinate a convenient date by calling 0668422387 or messaging via Telegram @donorodesa.
3. Prior to blood donation, adhere to specific dietary restrictions and medication guidelines.
