On June 27, 2025, a ceremonial event took place in Odesa, honoring healthcare workers who received awards from the Order of St. Panteleimon.
The event, led by Vasyl Knyazevych, gathered representatives from Christian communities, healthcare institutions, military organizations, and other important entities. Established in 2009, the award recognizes doctors for their dedication to serving the people of Ukraine and their courage in the fight for health during the war.
In 2025, winners in various nominations were announced:
- Support on the Frontline: Babenko Vsevolod Vasylovych, Colonel of the Medical Service.
- Hero of the Medical Front: Solovey Tetiana Panteleivna, operating nurse.
- Best Doctor: Chaykovska Svitlana Mykhailivna, oncologist.
- Heart of Medicine: Honchar Svitlana Volodymyrivna, senior nurse.
- Innovator of the Year: Umanyets Mykola Mykolaiovych, Doctor of Medical Sciences.
- Fortress of Health: Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases.
- Exemplar of Service: Father Theodore, priest.
The final determination of laureates will take place at the national level with the participation of an international commission.
Healthcare workers were also recognized with Honorary Certificates for their professionalism and dedication during the war.
