The Ukrainian government has decided to implement a new program for drone operators who will serve in the Armed Forces, National Guard, and State Border Service.
This initiative was announced by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal via social media.
“Following the directive from President Volodymyr Zelensky, we are expanding the program for drone operators serving in the military. The government has decided to launch a new program with specific terms, including a service period of two years,” said Shmyhal.
Drone operators will undergo up to 45 days of basic training, up to 60 days of specialized training (taking into account existing certificates), and a 14-day adaptation course.
“As in the main program, a payment of 1 million UAH is provided, which will be disbursed in three stages. After completing their service, the servicemen will receive additional support from the state, including a mortgage at 0%,” Shmyhal emphasized.
Additionally, a bill will be submitted to Parliament to grant deferments for those who have served under the program.
“Thus, all who voluntarily joined the military under contract will have the right to deferment for 12 months after reaching the age of 25,” Shmyhal noted.
Applications for the program can be submitted at: 18-24.army.gov.ua or through Reserve+.
